Your physical and mental health is one of your most important assets. Most people do not realise how important it is until they lose it and become incapacitated in some way.
I remember visiting a friend in hospital who was about to have a heart operation. The look on his face when he was saying goodbye has stuck with me. Being unsure as to whether he would survive and ever see me again was distressing. He commented "Always look after your health".
We are a curative rather than a preventative society. We wait until our health fails and then decide to fix it. Prevention is better than cure. Spend time learning about what it takes to have great physical and mental health and then implement this knowledge into achieving it.
I work with people every day helping them to realise their potential by teaching them positive thinking skills and helping them overcome problems that arise in their life. I have begun listing below some of the key ingredients to make life a success and some of the problems people encounter and how to deal with these. Please note, they are only a summary and a guide. What works for one may not work for another. If you are unable to resolve a problem, please seek professional help.
An analysis of tear drops indicates the chemical composition of your tear drops when you cry tears of sadness is completely different to when you cry tears of happiness.
Therefore, with thought you have, chemicals are released into your body.
Sad thoughts produce "sad" chemicals.
Angry thoughts produce "angry" chemicals.
Happy thoughts produce "happy" chemicals.
The only chemicals that produce peace, harmony, good health and lots of energy are happy chemicals. This is why doctors often say "Laughter is the best medicine".
As an example of how our thinking affects our health, the person who suffers from stomach ulcers is often a "worrier". They store "worry" in their stomach.
The heart relates to "love". We know the symbol of love is the heart. If someone is out of love, we say they are 'broken-hearted'.
When people have eye problems, it can mean "What don't they want to see?" Ears - What don't they want to hear? etc
How does this work?
Research shows that when a toxin is introduced to cells in a petri dish, the cells moce away from the toxin. When food is introduced, the cells move toward the food. This shows the cells have intelligence.
Toxins for the body include many of the foreign (un-natural) substances you place in your body. They also include toxic thoughts (stress) like anger, resentment, hate, depression, worry, bitterness and fear.
Good thoughts are happiness, peace and love.
Researchers now believe up to 95% of all physical and non-physical health problems have stress as their origin.
There are some excellent books written on this topic. They include:
Louise Hay - "You Can Heal Your Life"
Dr Bernie S. Siegel, M.D - "Love, Medicine & Miracles"
Dr Bruce Lupton, a former Standford Medical School Research Cellular Biologist - "The Biology of Belief"
If you are having trouble overcoming some persistent health problem, it may pay to look further and identify how your thinking can be contributing to the problem.
